Nafisah Abdul-Rahim
I was born and raised Muslim in Covington, Ky. and Cincinnati, Ohio. I have been a teacher for 16 years. I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a Master's degree in Special education. Currently I am an Intervention Specialist at an Elementary School. I have been married for 17 years and have 5 beautiful children.
I draw my inspiration from my family and experiences. I have published two books to date, My first book, "Zara's New Eid Dress" is loosely based on my daughter and my experience growing up as an African American Muslim. My latest book, "Boom, Boom, Tap was inspired by my oldest brother and his love for music. When I am not writing, I enjoy spending time with family, reading mystery novels, playing softball, and making memories with friends. I enjoy reading children's books and have always wanted to contribute to the literary world allowing young brown and black readers to see themselves in print. I believe everyone has an interesting story to tell
and I hope you enjoy mine.
